It was a classless comment that started the disagreement. R13 is about 70% right. The way I see this though, those who work in jails, and prisons have a really stressful tough job. I empathize with you, and I can only imagine what you have to put up with. Though saying that I think that what goes on at your place of work should stay there. No reason to bring your "game-face" from work home with you. If you want to act like a classless prick at work so be it, as long as it gets you through the workday. Maybe it makes you more effective at your job, but maybe you should drop that attitude on your way out the door. You're open to comments and criticism about comments you make on forums such as these. Bottom line, you don't have to take your work home with you.

R13 is slightly right on this one...i say slightly because you worded your argument wrong

it's sad actually...and what is funny about the situation is you guys are not even addressing what R13's argument was

R13's argument was that the "one less mouth to feed" comment was ignorant...well, it wasn't really "ignorant" (since he does have a knowledge of the situation and others like them...however, it was a "classless" statement, which is where i think R13 was going with his argument

you guys defend ID by saying, "you don't know what these guys are like" or "he wasn't in prison for singing too loud in church" when that doesn't even address the issue at hand at all

it doesn't matter one bit how much of a scum someone is or what gang they run with or how big of a "billy badass" they are...that still doesn't make ID's comment anything but classless

as far as the Obama comments go...it is the popular opinion that the conservative party is supposed to be the party with all the morals...you'll sit in church and listen to your pastor preach on "loving thy neighbor"...now you'll have to correct me, it's been a while since i last read the passage, but i'm fairly certain it doesn't read "love thy neighbor...well, unless he's a felon, then his life is worthless"

having said that, it's comical to watch conservatives quote the Bible for things like abortion and gay marriage, but then conveniently forget what the Bible teaches in their daily lives...especially when it comes to compassion for other human beings, smart or dumb, free or in prison, white or black, gay or straight...it's whatever is convenient...when the Bible helps you make your point, it's a great tool to use, but then when it comes to make that tool a practice, it is conveniently left behind

but then, you see liberals standing up for the rights of people who are oppressed (homosexuals, women, african-americans) and they are looked down upon by the very people who will point to the Bible as their main purpose for living

it's sad...and i'm not endorsing either party as being the more moral party, because Lord knows they both have their problems and contradictions...it's just plain sad

so....ignorant? nah, probably not...classless? very...contradicting? you better believe it
